VOLUNTEERS


Why volunteer?
You will get to see different parts of the world for a fraction of the cost and give back to your fellow friends at the same time. Not only that, but you will meet lasting friends from all over the world.

Why volunteer with JustUsFriends?

Because we offer you low priced volunteering which includes hostel type accommodations with three meals per day.   Our fees are based upon a donation basis.  We ask that our volunteers to donate $15.00 per day to JustUsFriends clinic.  This will help with the cost of food, supplies, etc.  Another advantage is that you actually pay this fee when you arrive to the clinic, so you know exactly where your money is being spent.  We do not charge a registration or application fee or transportation fees to and from the airport.  Your airfare and visa charges are your responsibility.

What should I bring?
A laptop computer if you have one, Internet is available sporadically. Spending money and your personal items. We do have a house mother you can pay a small fee for her to do your laundry while you're staying with us. It is customary to offer her $2.00 per week.

Where will I stay?
Depending upon where you will be volunteering, we will provide you safe accommodations in one of our private homes run by JustUsFriends or in one of our hostels.

Will you provide transportation to your facility from the airport?  

Yes. We encourage you to fly into Kiliminjaro International Airport (JRO). Your transfers will be arranged upon your submission of your flight itinerary.

What will be expected of me while I'm there?  
You will be placed in one if our facilities depending on your choice and availability. We expect you to volunteer 5 days per week, primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Weekends are free for you to experience and sight see.

Why should I sponsor or partner with JustUsFriends?
JustUsFriends is a Non-profit organization that sends every dime to fund our projects. That's right! We have no paid employees, no overhead, no red tape. You can literally watch your dollars help those who need it! In addition to giving back to your fellow friends, you will be helping us help these folks learn to be self-sustaining while at the same time get a tax write off fir your generosity.

How much should I give?  

Well, that's up to you and your budget. We can tell you that just $10 goes a long way in Tanzania. It will pay for a surgery to vaccines, to 10 meals. That's right! $10 US is like sending $120 US. So you can imagine how helpful larger sums of money would be. It costs us between $650 and $1,000 per month to run our medical clinic. That includes cost of local help and all medical supplies.

What is the difference between a Sponsor and a Partner?

Our Sponsorship Program is for larger donations. We have several levels of sponsorship starting with $1,000 on the low end and up from that. To find out more about our sponsorship program contact us at info@justusfriends.us.  Partners, generally have products they sell or services they offer which upon the transaction close, they automatically donate a percentage of the transaction.  This can be done through on-line stores, ebay, travel sites, etc.  If you have any other ideas on how to create additional revenue streams please contact us at fredda@justusfriends.us.  We are always looking for new innovative ideas to create revenue.
